Wishes ceremony at the Jean Bouveri hospital – I am sick but I am taking care of myself

How is the Montceau hospital doing? At the last wishes in January 2020, already at that time, management, elected officials, union and staff representatives were looking at the patient. The hospital was doing badly when the covid had not yet made its feverish outbreak.

Three years later, still on the occasion of the vows, the diagnosis has hardly changed. The symptoms are even more significant. “After 25 years of career, I have not known such aggravation of the difficulties” recognizes from the outset, Philippe Collange-Campagna, general manager of the GHT (hospital group of the territory) who addressed for the first time to the hospital officials after his appointment ten months ago. “We carry out our missions in difficult conditions” while “the evils were known before the covid”.

Philippe Colange-Campagna presses where it hurts. “There is the fear that the whole system will collapse. The basic problems are getting worse”. He then asks the question, “How can the hospital bear more?” »

Against all odds, the Montceau hospital center is still standing “thanks to the dedication of each other” he assures. “You are individually and collectively the human wealth of the Jean Bouveri hospital center. It is precious, it is the basis of our common desire to continue our efforts,” adds Marie-Claude Jarrot, mayor of Montceau-les-Mines and president of the hospital’s supervisory board. “I completely agree with the general manager’s remarks even if he has weighed down the atmosphere a bit”.

To say that the Montceau hospital center is at a turning point _ one more _ is a mild understatement. However, this is the case, his survival depends on it and the pieces of plaster will no longer suffice. “But solutions are on the horizon” continue Philippe Colange-Campagna, Marie-Claude Jarrot and Jean-Michel Suignard, deputy director of the CH de Montceau.

Labeling and new hospital,

it’s now or never

Even though it is necessary to consolidate addiction services, palliative care, to review others, to open up work prospects with the southern GHT (Mâcon), Le Creusot and Dijon, “we are awaiting the response for the labeling nearby hospital. This is our only chance to write its future, to integrate it into the territory by becoming a community hospital and thus experience financial stability” explains the general manager. The ARS has already confirmed aid of €4 million in cash.

Labeling which is becoming necessary and urgent since it will be decisive in the construction of a new hospital “which will be a new start”, maintains Philippe Colange-Campagna.

“It’s been 20 years since our establishment has benefited from structural work,” recalls the chairwoman of the supervisory board. This work, she leads it head on with the deputy, Louis Margueritte. After an appointment with the office of the Minister of Health, “I will be on February 2 in Matignon to continue to carry this file which must succeed” she affirms. ” It’s now or never “.

“It is time to take our future in hand because we have the capacity to surpass ourselves” then intervenes Jean-Michel Suignard for whom 2023 must see the successful completion of the medical project, opening a long-term care unit with 30 places while developing recruitment. .

So the words of Dr. Nabil M’Nasri, president of CME (establishment medical committee) were needed to put some balm in the heart. Because regardless of the report of the Igas (General Inspectorate of Social Affairs) on the CH de Montceau, “it appears above all that within the establishment, we are very united, very strong, in short formidable”.

Nabil M’Nasri however ardently wishes that “to work well, it is necessary to establish a link between the hospital and the city doctors. We cannot work without them”.
