Wirtualna Polska – Everything important

Poland wants changes in the regulations on VAT rates, mainly concerning books and tickets. Government representatives indicate that the current regulations are more favorable for countries that have had a longer period of service in the European Union.

The meeting of finance ministers of 27 countries in Luxembourg is underway. Poland was represented by the ambassador to the Union, Andrzej Sadoś, who raised the subject of VAT rates, informs the Information Radio Agency (IAR) via the website next.gazeta.pl.

Polish diplomacy would like to make rates more flexible. Andrzej Sadoś pointed out that Poland could benefit from reduced VAT rates only until 2010.

Meanwhile, countries that joined the European Union before 1995 can still benefit from reduced VAT rates. Therefore, the Polish representative called for the system to be updated and reformed in such a way that all countries would have equal opportunities.
