The atmosphere in the mines belonging to Polska Grupa Górnicza is getting nervous. All thanks to the recent actions of the unions, which initiated a collective dispute and want to pay compensation for the last three months . They explain it, among others mobilization of the staff. In recent weeks, miners have agreed to additional work to increase production.
Trade unions are also demanding pay rises for miners employed by PGG. In this case, we are talking about the amount of PLN 8,200 gross. “On hand” this would mean a salary of about PLN 5,870 . A lot? Little? The topic of miners’ salaries has aroused considerable emotions for years, which is why we decided to check how it looks in practice.
Miners demand raises. How much do they really earn?
In December 2019, the Central Statistical Office informed that the average salary of a miner was PLN 14,950 gross (about PLN 10,600 “on hand”). It was then that it caused a lot of controversy, as the unions were also in dispute with the company’s management and demanded pay rises. In the end, it was possible to partially win them over.
