Unbelievable things emerge from the data of the investigations so far regarding the wiretapping scandal and the double monitoring of the former head of the Economic Crime Prosecutor’s Office and current deputy prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Christos Bardakis from both EYP and Predator.

From the data of the investigations so far, it appears that Mr. Bardakis was for two years under surveillance by the National Intelligence Service (NIS), with the approval of the supervising prosecutor of the NIS at the time, Vasiliki Vlacho. In fact, the period when Mr. Bardakis was under surveillance by the EYP coincides with the period when, during his days as head of the Financial Crimes Prosecutor’s Office, the files filed for the Novartis scandal and two political figures, the Adonis Georgiadis and Dimitris Avramopoulos in which sums of money characterized as “of unspecified origin” had been identified.

Although being monitored, Mr. Bardakis never appealed to the Justice in order to protect his prosecutorial honor and to be informed why he was put under surveillance by the EYP. The doubly monitored prosecutor Bardakis

According to a recent inside story investigation, Mr. Bardakis had been placed under surveillance by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for two years, namely from June 1, 2020 to June 12, 2022. The surveillance was carried out in accordance with provisions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which he signed the then supervising prosecutor of the EYP, Vasiliki Vlachou. Essentially every two months the monitoring of Mr. Bardakis by the EYP was renewed with the signature of his colleague Vasilikis Vlachos. It was February 2022 when the Financial Crimes Prosecutor filed the case files that had been filed for the Novartis scandal and two political figures, Adonis Georgiadis and Dimitris Avramopoulos. During that period, Chr. Bardakis was head of the Financial Prosecutor’s Office. The filing approved by him was done by appeals prosecutor Panagiotis Kapsimalis, his successor at the helm of the Economic Prosecutor’s Office, despite the fact that amounts of “unspecified origin” had been identified in both ministers.

The contract was awarded to the consortium TOMI (subsidiary of the Aktor group) and Alstom. After an investigation, the Financial Prosecutor’s Office filed the case file. However, the case then took a different turn. In November 2022, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office put this particular contract under its own microscope, regarding whether the EU budget was damaged. As part of the investigation, they have been criminal prosecutions by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office against 23 suspects including 18 civil servants.

Today, after the national tragedy of Tempe has taken place, which could possibly have been avoided if all the authorities, including the judiciary, had really investigated, the specific case file has been forwarded to the Parliament.

He took out “oil” and Nikolaou with “emptying” of the SDOE

Another case personally handled by the prosecutor Bardakis was that of the dozens of direct assignments of the General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy on Sophia Nikolaou. SDOE auditors found in their conclusion that a potential loss of 2 million euros had resulted from these assignments. On the contrary, however, in the case of Georgiadis – Avramopoulos, the auditors’ “inconclusive” conclusion was invoked.
