Boxer Seif Letaief takes the step into the professional ranks

For a long time, there was silence about boxing in Winterthur. But now the Eulach city has a

Boxing The young man from Winterthur has caused a sensation in the Swiss boxing scene in recent years. Although he started boxing late, Seif Letaief became the German-Swiss champion in 2022 and was crowned both regional and Swiss champion in 2023. In 45 amateur fights, he emerged victorious 32 times – an impressive record for his still young career.

Get started with the pros

Under the guidance of his trainer Gabriel Viltre Diaz from the Winterthur Boxing Club, Seif Letaief now wants to make it as a professional. He is making great sacrifices to achieve this: he has given notice on his apartment and is moving back into his childhood bedroom so that he can concentrate fully on boxing – apart from his work, nothing else will be his focus in the coming years. His first professional fight has already been scheduled.

On September 21, he will face the Italian Mike Astarita in Frenkendorf. He has remained winless in five fights so far, but has only been defeated once early – ideal conditions for a successful entry into the professional business. But Seif Letaief and his trainer have even bigger plans. In mid-December, a boxing meeting is finally to take place in Winterthur after a long break in order to re-establish the Eulach city as the center of Swiss boxing. Seif Letaief’s move to the professional ranks is the first step in this direction. pd/rb
