Four traffic accidents occurred in Winterthur ZH over the weekend from Friday to Monday, in which one person was injured.
On Friday, April 8, 2022, shortly after 1 p.m., a 16-year-old moped driver was injured on Grüzefeldstrasse in Winterthur after falling with his vehicle after an emergency stop.
According to previous knowledge, a city bus turned from Grüzefeldstrasse into Industriestrasse, failing to see the motorbike handlebars driving on Grüzefeldstrasse.
As a result, the moped driver had to make an emergency stop and fell. The teenager sustained injuries to his foot.
Collision between two vehicles
On the same day, shortly before 4.30 p.m., the operations center of the Winterthur city police received a report of a traffic accident between several vehicles at the Auwiesenstrasse / In der Au junction.
According to initial findings, a 22-year-old drove past a vehicle standing at the intersection in a delivery van and overlooked an oncoming passenger car, whereupon the two vehicles collided.
The van involved then crashed into another vehicle parked at the intersection.
Furthermore, the passenger car involved in the first collision crashed into an island protection post. The 39-year-old passenger in that car suffered minor injuries. There was property damage in the amount of around 40,000 francs.
A four-year-old boy hit
Shortly after 6 p.m., a four-year-old boy was hit by a passenger car on Linsetalstrasse in Winterthur Sennhof after he had carelessly stepped on the road.
He suffered moderate injuries to his leg and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
On Saturday, April 9, a 56-year-old cyclist fell in a parking lot on Grüzefeldstrasse and was injured moderately. A breath alcohol test carried out gave a positive result.
