The St. Gallen friends Marcel Räbsamen and Werner Schlegel met in the final round. After a short time, Schlegel prevailed and won the Berchtoldwickelt for the first time. Samir Leuppi, Winterthur’s top swinger, had to withdraw due to an injury.
Rikemer Patrick Rüegg recorded a victory at the start. The Solothurn partial association wreath Sinisha Lüscher made it look a bit old. After the very good, staged fight in round 3, he was allowed to wipe the sawdust off his opponents’ backs three times in a row. With 57 points he came in 6th place.
Christian Lanter was also able to celebrate a victory in the first fight. He then lost to the St. Gallen confederate Werner Schlegel in the first move. Lanter won the next three fights, two with the maximum score. This put him in 4th place before he was defeated in the final gear by Noe Van Messel from Zug. With 56.50 points we took 8th place.
Before midday, Lucien Weibel was able to get the maximum grade twice, but once he came up short. He lost matches 4 and 5. He won the last fight again and earned 55.75 points in 11th place.
Fabian Plüer was also able to get a 10 in the first encounter. He then lost to Reto Koch, the Appenzeller sub-association team. After a draw, he was able to celebrate as winner again before he had to admit defeat by his fifth opponent. Plüer also won his last fight confidently and finished in 13th place with 55.25 points.
Karim Leuppi started with a score, but immediately afterwards he got the maximum mark twice. Two more draws followed. With the defeat in the last fight, Leuppi gained 55 points in 14th place.
Janos Bachmann from Wildberg was able to assert himself confidently in first gear. However, the Herisau confederate Martin Roth was a size too big for him. The next three matches ended in a draw. Bachmann scored 55 points with his last win and came in 14th place.
Niklas Frauenfelder had to have the sawdust wiped off his back in the first gear. But the next two opponents had no chance against him. However, three defeats followed. With 53.50 points he took 20th place.
