Surprisingly, this sentence comes from Peter Matzinger, Mayor of Dinhard. Since 2017 his community has been the regional tax haven. Diners will continue to hold this title in 2021. You pay 87 percent in northeast Winterthur. The absolute leader in the canton also remains the same: Kilchberg with 72 percent.
The tax rate only tells half the story about a municipality and its financial situation. In the cantonal municipal office, debt is the most important indicator of the financial health of a municipality. If a municipality has too low a tax rate, it can run into a so-called structural deficit and become heavily indebted.
