The Winterthur comedian Cenk guested with his new program “Veilable” for the preview at Dietiker Gleis 21.

Many stage artists like to use track 21 in Dietikon for their try-outs, i.e. previews. In this way they can find out how their new piece affects the audience.

Comedian Cenk is no exception. On Thursday evening he was at track 21 for a try-out. There he performed his new program “Veilable”, which will premiere on April 20 at the Casinotheater Winterthur. It’s about the weirdest night of his life – his cousin’s wedding on New Year’s Eve.

Everything fictitious or not?

Before the Winterthurer talks about the actual horror night, he ponders the expression “blood, sweat and tears” and how disrespectful it is when blood, sweat and tears literally come at the same time. He also talks about his own trauma, a rejected marriage proposal at the tender age of seven.

Then he talks about that one night. And swings again. Because to make matters worse, a bachelorette party in Berlin also led to relationship problems shortly before the wedding. There the bad luck continues in the packed hall, more precisely in the packed sports hall.

While he is desperately trying to save his relationship, the best man and debt collector Igor and a southern German citizen are breathing down his neck. The only option is to escape. He meets the groom, who turns out to be a motivational coach and gives him a mantra to take with him. Finally, Cenk manages to escape to a playground, where he meets the bride’s younger brother.

After a joint and an epiphany, he now knows what needs to be done to finally end the relationship troubles. However, he is so motivated in the matter that he is arrested because of a lawsuit against noise. Fortunately, there is a happy ending in the drunk tank. Is it all fictitious or not? Cenk leaves it open.

Homey atmosphere and benevolent crowd

In any case, “Veilable” is a full-length but coherent story. Cenk sometimes deviates from the main theme, but without getting bored. Skilful punchlines made for many loud laughs in platform 21. “I had to laugh the most about the wedding location, there were a lot of good things about it. In general it was super entertaining. Cenk himself was also satisfied. After the premiere, which was originally planned for 2021, had to be postponed, he used the additional year to work on the program again with director Paul Steinmann. «Try-outs are there to make as many mistakes as possible, now I have 1000 things in my head that I can still adjust. I achieved everything I hoped for from the try-out,” said the comedian, adding:
