That’s what it’s about
At the end of July, investigators from the Winterthur city police observed a drug handover.
During a house search, the police found 4.5 kilograms of cocaine.
Three men were arrested.
Investigators from the Winterthur city police observed a suspected drug handover between three people in downtown Winterthur on Monday afternoon, July 31. The men were then checked. A 23-year-old Swiss man tried to run away during the check, but was arrested after a short escape.
During the check, the police were able to secure several portions of cocaine, which led to the trio being arrested, the Winterthur city police wrote in a statement on Friday afternoon. In addition to the 23-year-old Swiss, there was another Swiss man aged 20 and a 42-year-old Spaniard.
More cocaine seized during house search
The investigation triggered by the control showed that the Spaniard was probably the main perpetrator, whereupon a house search was carried out at his place of residence on behalf of the public prosecutor, the police continue. During this house search, around 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, several thousand Swiss francs, packaging material and other relevant utensils were seized.
The 42-year-old is reported on suspicion of serious violations of the Narcotics Act. The other two men will also face charges of alleged narcotics trafficking.
