Heavy snowfall forced the trucks to stop through the Troyan-Karnare pass, NOVA reported.
In the high part of Beklemeto it is snowing intensely, and on the southern slopes there is a strong northwest wind.
In about 2 hours at 1500 meters above sea level the snow cover reached about 3-4 centimeters. The snow is wet, sticky and dangerous to drive with summer tires. The temperature in the late afternoon on Sunday was minus 2 degrees.
Snowplows cultivated the highest Stara Planina pass. For now, traffic remains limited to trucks over 12 tons.
The forecasts are that the snowfall in the mountains, and especially in the Central Stara Planina, will continue overnight on Monday.
