The United States National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather warning for New York City. The notice will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. this Monday.
Likewise, the measure extends until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, our meteorologist Stephanie Viés, from the Guardians of the Weather, predicted: “After 3:00 in the morning the snow begins to arrive, we see impacts at 4:30 in the entire area of New Jersey, Manhattan , the Queens coastal area, continues until 9:30 when we can have a truce.”
“The heaviest of the snow would come after noon at 1:45 in the afternoon, affecting the entire area,” he added.
These are the snow accumulations expected in New York, according to the NWS
- In Manhattan there will be accumulations of up to 3 inches of snow
- For Queens, in the JFK airport area, there will be about 2.4 inches
- In Newark, New Jersey, the estimate is 3.1 inches
- While for Long Island the accumulations vary between 2.4 and 1 inch
More snow is also expected on Thursday and Friday.
