An ‘exceptional response’ has been recorded in health centers and other points where vaccines against influenza, Covid-19 and Pneumococcus are given, said the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Adrián Medina Amarillas.
He pointed out that more than 200,000 doses of flu vaccine have been administered across the state in the past two weeks, as well as significant progress in the use of the other two biological agents available.
“We have already vaccinated more than 200 thousand against the flu, we have vaccinated more than 60 thousand against pneumococcus and we have given 35 thousand the boost for Covid-19.
Medina Amarillas recalled that this year’s winter vaccination campaign began earlier than expected, with the intention of avoiding the appearance of problems in cases of respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, which increase at the end of the year.
Although there has been a slight increase so far, the official clarified that this has not reached the levels expected by the authorities, because this year the entry of low temperatures in the entity.
“Certainly these winds and air, and the dust we had over the weekend, will return, not yet the numbers that worry us over the winter, but We are ready in all the health centers and hospitals to support them.”
As the expert said, traditionally it is until December 21, with the official entry of winter to Baja California, when the rebound in respiratory diseases among Mexicans begins to be seen, driven by low temperatures and the increase in environmental pollution which is also common in these times.
Vaccinations against influenza, Covid-19 and Pneumococcus are available in all health centers and public hospitals in the entity, as well as in some travel vaccination points installed in shopping plazas and in the Municipal Palace of Mexicali.
