Winter in the Big Apple will have a new face and the city’s tourist office has decided to attract visitors and residents with discount programs that can be booked now on the NYCgo.com page.

From January 3 to February 12, 140 hotels will offer discounts of 23%, restaurants will have reduced prices and it will be possible to buy two tickets for the price of one to visit attractions and enjoy Broadway shows, which has 10 more previews this month.

But a wave of insecurity in the city could dim expectations.

Another of the objectives of this initiative is to create jobs, especially in the hospitality sector, which usually shrink after the high season in December.

The New York City tourism company expects to receive nearly 6 million visitors this year-end season, and with its winter schedule, it hopes to continue to reach those numbers into early 2023. Ángela González, Voice of America, New York.
