Winter session of Parliament starts from December 4, these important bills are likely to be introduced

New Delhi. The winter session of Parliament is starting from 4th December. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi posted this information on X. He told that the winter session will run from December 4 to December 22. There will be 15 meetings in these 19 days. He is hopeful that there will be serious discussions on legislative work and other topics during the session between Amritkal. According to sources, three major bills brought to replace major criminal laws are likely to be considered during the session. The Standing Committee on Home Affairs has recently accepted its report on three bills. Another major bill pending in Parliament relates to the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners.

The government did not insist on passing this bill, introduced in the monsoon session, in the special session of Parliament amid opposition from the opposition and former Chief Election Commissioners. Through this bill, the government wants to bring the status of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners at par with that of the Cabinet Secretary. At present he has the status equivalent to a judge of the Supreme Court.
