The Glenwood Hot Springs Resort has the world’s largest hot spring pool and attracts visitors, especially in winter, with its majestic backdrop of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains. With the new expansion of the East End, the resort has been offering five additional pools with different temperatures since summer 2024 – perfect for finding the heat level that suits you. The size and variety of pools, combined with the historic atmosphere, make this resort a winter must-see.
Iron Mountain Hot Springs – WorldSprings Expansion
Die Iron Mountain Hot Springs are known for their quiet, natural atmosphere and direct location on the Colorado River. The contrast between the steaming thermal water and the icy river is particularly fascinating in winter. With the WorldSprings expansion, which will be completed in late summer/fall 2025, guests will be able to warm up in the sauna after a swim in the large cold water pool. Afterwards, you can relax in one of the six new cabanas and enjoy the tranquil winter landscape.
Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort – Highest thermal water slide in Colorado
The Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort is known not only for its mineral pools that stretch along a natural mountain stream, but also, since summer 2024, for the highest thermal water slide in the state. In winter, the combination of the warm slide and the surrounding snowy landscape makes the experience particularly exciting. The Springs Resort in Pagosa Springs is known for its particularly hot and highly mineralized springs, which are even considered to be the hottest in the entire state. In winter, the rising steam from the 23 pools looks almost magical against the snowy mountain backdrop. With expansion planned by 2025, including 20 additional pools and a geothermal spa and geothermal greenhouse, this resort will become an even more luxurious retreat for winter lovers.
