The man stood out at a traffic control on the Oldambtplein in Winschoten, where he drove his car. While officers checked him, they saw a weapon in the car. The man grabbed the gun and ran off on foot. Police officers in bulletproof vests went looking for him and found him in a house on Olieslagerstraat. He no longer had the weapon with him.
