Peter Pannekoek, René van Meurs and the duo Yentl and de Boer won a Poelifinario on Monday evening. The Neerlands Hoop encouragement prize went to cabaret duo n00b. The winners of the VSCD Cabaret Awards were announced on Monday during the Cabaret Gala in The Hague.

“Few comedians work as hard as Pannekoek on their performance and it shines through on all sides,” the jury writes about Pannekoek, who with his performance DNA won the Poelifinario 2023 in the engagement category.

“Big themes, original perspectives, daring conferences, diverse humor: he challenges himself with every performance and never takes the easy way. There is no shortage of sharpness, courage and well-thought-out phrases.”

Van Meurs won with 2636 in the entertainment category. The jury praises his “well-balanced programme” with room “for countless comic anecdotes that are recognizable to contemporaries”. “But also for the realization that fatherhood is a turning point in life, which should not be taken lightly.”

Yentl and de Boer, who with Loaches won in the cabaret category, according to the jury “provide a sensual theater concert, in which the number of beautiful songs is so large that it is hardly possible to identify a favorite”.

Isabelle Kafando and Laura Bakker of cabaret duo n00b “came, saw and overwhelmed the theaters and their audience with a whirlwind of sketches,” the jury said.

The VSCD Cabaret Prizes have been awarded since 2003. Previous winners include Marc-Marie Huijbregts, Theo Maassen, Claudia de Breij, Wim Helsen and Erik van Muiswinkel.
