Winners of the “Latvian Design of the Year Award” competition in five categories awarded The news

Riga, May 29, LETA. The winners of the “Latvian Design of the Year Award” (LDGB) competition in five categories have been awarded and the Grand Prize has also been presented, Raimonds Seņko, the award representative, informed LETA.

There are three 2nd places in the product design category. The second place went to work for “Elpo” – an air biofilter with remote control and control “Elpo plantbots”. Also 2nd place went to SIA “Velo Machine” and Alekseja Golovņova transformable stairs for children “HappyMoon”, as well as authors Kintija Anna Bērzkalne and League Riga menstrual underwear “Thatday”.

In turn, in the digital design category, the 1st place was awarded to the author Olaf Osh for the game “Grunnd [Prologs]”, but in the service, policy and strategy design category 1st place was the experiment” Metropole 3.0 “-” Tet “transition to a hybrid work model, the authors of which are Ingrida Rone, Madara Zelčane, Jelena Solovjova, Edmunds Medvedevs, Anda Mūrniece and Agnese Lazareva.

In the category of environmental and interior design, the 1st place is presented for the work wooden sculptural object “Ghost Train”, the authors of which are Reinis Liepiņš, Ilze Liepiņa, Ainārs Plankājs, Ieva Landmane, Mārtiņš Ostaņēvičs and Jurģis Prikulis.

In the category of graphic design, the book with the elements of augmented reality “Stories in Sounds”, the authors of which are Maija Rozenfelde, but Anda Beitāne, Annija Bičule, Gunda Miķelsone, Maija Rozenfelde, Arturs Kondrats and Amanda Zaeska have been presented in the team. This work has also won a large cash award from the Ministry of Culture.

The special juries of the international jury were also presented at the event. They were received by SIA “Longenesis” and the author Linda Šeibe’s digital platform for personalized breast cancer risk research “Skrinings.lv”. The award was also received by the campaign “Everything is norm.a” of the Ministry of Health, SIA “Rozenbauma un māsas”. The authors of the concept and content of the campaign are Marta Krivade and Una Rozenbaum, and the artist is Sven Neiland. The special prize of the jury was also received by SIA “DJA” Pinumu pavilion, the author of which is Didzis Jaunzems and Ksenia Sapega.

LDGB is a national design industry competition, which is organized with the aim to identify, evaluate and popularize the best performances of Latvian designers, to promote the application of Latvian-created design and the long-term development and growth of the Latvian design industry. The competition is the largest annual event in Latvian design, which is recognized as a nationally important event, while the award is the highest award in the Latvian design industry.
