The work The wedding of the petit bourgeois, of the Youkali Escena company, has been the winner of the XXI Moratalaz Classical Theater Competition, organized by the district’s municipal board. The second prize went to Robbery at three, from Todo sobre Eva Teatro, and the third, to the company El Duende de Lerma for their interpretation of The shadow of Tenorio. The district councilor, Nacho Pezuela, was in charge of presenting the awards at an event held today at the El Torito Cultural Center.

In addition to the first three awards, worth 2,000, 1,500 and 1,000 euros respectively, the jury, made up of dramaturgy professionals, has also awarded seven mentions in recognition of the work of actors, directors, costumes and set design.

The award for best leading actress went to Lola Robles, for her performance as Arkadina in The seagull lake; that of supporting actress, to Miriam Ligero, for her role as Victoria in Summer ravings; The best leading actor in the jury’s opinion was Miguel Escabias, for Kostia in The seagull lake, and the best supporting actor has been Antonio Díaz Narváez, for his performance as Adolf in The wedding of the petit bourgeois.

For his part, Vicent Bonmatí has ​​been recognized as best director in Robbery at three and Mónica Florensa for the best costumes and set design, with the award for best young company being void.

Moratalaz held this traditional competition in the months of September and October, which has completed its 21st edition in 2023 and is already a reference for audiences who love classical theater.
