Winners announced at the end of the “Jordan Theater Festival”

The 29th edition of the “Jordan Theater Festival” ends with a limited concert, after the death of the artist Ashraf Telfah. The Moroccan show “Biranda” won the award for best integrated theater performance.

The Moroccan show “Biranda” won the award for the best integrated theater show, within the activities of the 29th session of the “Jordan Theater Festival”, and was directed by Ahmed Amin Sahel.

The closing ceremony was held in the presence of the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar, and the curators of the festival, as well as a limited presence in the “Royal Hall”, inside the Royal Cultural Center in the capital, Amman, on Monday evening, after the ministry canceled the closing ceremony of the festival, scheduled following the death of artist Ashraf Telfah in Egypt.

The judging panel announced that the Kuwaiti play “The Sixth Column”, directed by Ali Al Balushi, and the Jordanian play “The Tawafa”, directed by Shifaa Al Jarrah, equally won the theater directing award.

The Best Actor award was jointly won by Jordanian artist Mahmoud Al Zaghoul, for his role in the Jordanian comedy “Time Break,” which he wrote and directed, and Egyptian artist Yasser Mujahid, for his role in the comedy “The Night of the Killers” which also won the Best Art Direction award is directed by Sobhi Youssef, while the Best Actress award was won by Iraqi actress Suha Salem for her role in the Iraqi comedy “ Khalaf,” which also won the Best Play Award, was written and directed by Muhannad Hadi.

The jury awarded a special arbitral award to Jordanian author Rasha Al-Mulaifi for the text of the work ‘The Raft’, “for propelling the women’s writing movement locally and in the Arab world”, according to the report of the committee.

AndThe Jordan Theater Festival kicked off on the 6th of this monthWith the participation of 10 theater groups from 6 Arab countries, as well as Jordan. The festival honored artists Qamar Al-Safadi, Zuhair Al-Nubani, Nabil Najm and Youssef El-Gamal.
