Tegucigalpa – The Victoria Sports Club beat Génesis this Saturday 2-1 in the final of the Liga de Ascenso, in a duel held at the Municipal Ceibeño Stadium in the city of La Ceiba. Now they will face Atlético Pinares de Ocotepeque, champion of the previous tournament, in a round-trip match.
Victoria and Genesis, met last Sunday, May 23 in San Lorenzo, Valle, a match that ended with a 2-2 draw, so everything had to be defined this Saturday to meet the champion of the Promotion League. The people of Ceiba had that advantage of being able to win in their own home.
The jaibo team, led by Honduran coach Carlos “El Chato” Padilla, began the duel with the intention of dominating the fierce Genesis who, for several stretches of the game, had better judgment with the ball, the good work done by the experienced coach was noted Honduran, Carlos Martínez.
