NEW YORK.- An upper Manhattan grocer has been arrested after apparently stabbing a customer following a dispute, police said.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Friday at a warehouse near 39th Street and Broadway in Hamilton Heights.

A woman argued with store worker José Alba51, because she was upset by how he treated her.

The woman left and went to look for Austin Simon, 37, who came to claim Alba.

Simon attacked the winemaker and he told the police that To defend himself, he took a knife and wounded Simon twice in the chest and once in the neck..

After calling 911, emergency services transported the injured man to a Harlem hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police took Alba into custody and recovered the knife from the scene.

His appearance in Manhattan criminal court is still pending.
