She recalls that this type of measure has been in place for over a year and that companies should apply them.

According to the Health Unit, companies were however informed of the use of appropriate personal protective equipment, during the last control campaign.

This visit is one of the many actions carried out by the health unit since the start of the pandemic.

Ms Dupuis added that officers have found that some companies do not screen customers and do not have a documented security plan. They still do not use personal protective equipment properly, she notes.

« Nine companies were fined and 21 more were made aware of compliance over the weekend. »

Currently, the only mass vaccination center for recalls is at the mall Devonshire.

On Wednesday, the Health Unit said in a statement that the recreation center Nature Fresh Farms de Leamington will open on January 5 as a mass vaccination center.

It had been turned into a mass vaccination center earlier this year to give people the first and second doses.

The center is expected to offer appointments from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and will offer the first, second and third dose to people with weakened immune systems, as well as boosters.

Health officials have indicated that there will be no service for spontaneous visits. They add that people can start making appointments from December 29 at 8 a.m.

In addition, the Health Unit is partnering with Erie Shores HealthCare Hospital in Leamington, Windsor-Essex Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the City of Kingsville to work with employers to provide workers temporary foreigners the opportunity to be vaccinated.

A series of ephemeral vaccination clinics will be created and specifically designed to vaccinate migrant workers living in Windsor-Essex. The health unit said it has already contacted employers.
