Leamington Mass Vaccination Center opens January 5
Currently, the only mass vaccination center for recalls is at the mall Devonshire.
On Wednesday, the Health Unit said in a statement that the recreation center Nature Fresh Farms de Leamington will open on January 5 as a mass vaccination center.
It had been turned into a mass vaccination center earlier this year to give people the first and second doses.
The center is expected to offer appointments from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and will offer the first, second and third dose to people with weakened immune systems, as well as boosters.
Health officials have indicated that there will be no service for spontaneous visits. They add that people can start making appointments from December 29 at 8 a.m.
In addition, the Health Unit is partnering with Erie Shores HealthCare Hospital in Leamington, Windsor-Essex Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the City of Kingsville to work with employers to provide workers temporary foreigners the opportunity to be vaccinated.
A series of ephemeral vaccination clinics will be created and specifically designed to vaccinate migrant workers living in Windsor-Essex. The health unit said it has already contacted employers.
