Only the few programs that go there are not important. Windows is mostly a gaming platform, and as long as games don’t go there, it can go somewhere in the office. For example, I have it installed at work (but now I’m writing from a gaming computer at home), and it really goes wrong in the office 🙂 And what goes wrong, it mostly has a Microsoft sticker – sometimes teams won’t work, sometimes outlook. Thank God I don’t have to use office anymore.
The thoughts are quite real. For example, I remember how Windows ended up on mobile phones. Also how it ended up on the servers. I see no reason why this should come out. Although yes, I know a microsoft funboy who has a surface laptop. Even with that intel 🙂 When he compiles the code there, the processor shoots to the highest frequencies, the laptop starts screaming like a helicopter, and then it throttles for 10 minutes so it doesn’t burn 🙂
Yes, I came across that laptop with arm 🙂 They will be chrome books for 200 euros without performance, or it will cost 2000 euros and without operating system support, just some crappy windows.
