Windows 11 is set for a big update in the fall, and one of the new features could be an AI-powered Snap. The capture and window experiences are scheduled to undergo an AI update to revamp the user experience soon. One of the first new features will be “Smart Snap”, which aims to change the behavior of Snap Assist in the operating system.
An earlier version of Windows 11’s AI-powered Smart Snap Layouts feature has finally been spotted in preview builds, with plans to release later this year. Microsoft is working internally on the Smart Snap feature, which is finally starting to show up in preview. However, it seems to be hidden and will only work on some configurations.
Windows comes with the Snap feature that allows you to have multiple app windows on one screen (multitasking) and increases productivity by letting you choose between different layouts and sizes. This makes it easy to optimize screen space while working on specific tasks.
With Windows 11, Microsoft introduced “Snap Assist,” which appears automatically after the first window is captured, showing open windows as thumbnails to choose which windows to add to the selected layout.
You can resize the layout tiles by selecting and dragging the dividing lines, making sure you don’t waste screen space.
Upcoming changes to the Snap feature in Windows 11 include the integration of the Smart Capture feature to improve the user experience. Windows Latest understands this feature to be AI-like in that it can remember and understand user snap behavior.

The introduction of AI-powered Snap Layouts in Windows 11 will simplify the restore process, making it more efficient and easier to use.
Also, Microsoft is considering the idea of integrating Microsoft 365 into File Explorer and displaying real-time recommendations.
