Windows is gearing up for a major update that will impact gamers and professionals alike. The Color Control Panel gets a major overhaul, including improved profile management. Since release Windows 11, Microsoft is actively modernizing Windows’ built-in operating system options, moving away from the outdated Windows XP-like appearance, especially in graphics and display settings.
The newest build of Canary and Dev (26052), not intended for general use, introduces a new color control panel with simplified profile management. The system can now select the optimal color profile for specific applications using Automatic Application Color Management. Users also get the ability to more easily assign profiles to each connected display.
A fresh update should be important, especially for professionals who require perfect color reproduction. It’s worth adding that the new color management also has a built-in color calibration option.
To enable a new option, you must first use the Dev or Canary channel. These builds are not intended for everyday use as they often contain fixes that can cause unexpected errors, especially in games. The new page is in the section Settings > System > Display > Color Management.
