Windows 11 preview lets users create folders in Start menu – Computer – News

Me too, but it’s not efficient and I do miss the Windows 10 start menu.
Applications that I use often I put from the start bar itself, but applications that I don’t use often I put in Win 10 in the start menu itself. Here you had a certain freedom in organizing (large tile vs small tile, create groups, have a widget, create folders) and I miss this a lot.

In Windows 11, this is a regular list of rows where each application is the same. For me this is a big setback, especially because I’m just putting applications in here that I don’t use much and I sometimes forget the name (audacity, scrcpy are such examples) so searching for them will be difficult. I now notice that I am looking for the application longer, while under Win 10 I had already found it for a long time.

And widgets, yes you can think what you want but the few widgets under W10 I found very useful. Especially the stock and weather widget under W10 at least gave me (every time I pressed start) a quick update without making any specific effort. Now you have that ad widget panel that you have to make a specific effort to get into. That has now been disabled.
