After several months of rumors and teasers, Microsoft officially announced Windows 11. The new version of the most used computer operating system in the world now arrives in a new version that promises to take advantage of the renewed interest in Windows devices that has been seen since 2020.
With Windows 11 users are entitled to an evolution that does not stray from the principles of Windows 10, cementing the good work carried out by Microsoft. However, being a new version, there is a whole design and features that give meaning to the update and explain the generational leap.
Windows 11 brings a new face to Microsoft’s system

In a first impact, Windows 11 immediately distinguishes itself from the other versions of the operating system by the aesthetic and organizational issue. Taskbar applications are now centered, breaking a decades-old tradition where applications and windows were left-aligned.
The Home menu was also given a new look, being also centered and simpler. The old mural is now replaced by a simplified grid that presents the most used applications in a modern way, as well as some suggestions below.
The aesthetic aspect doesn’t stop there, with the Windows 11 windows themselves presenting a new look with rounded corners. The system brings with it a whole new icon pack and several options for the layout of open windows with modes Snap Layouts, Snap Groups e Desktop, which can be preset by the user according to their preferences.

On a functional level there are also big news. The Microsoft Store receives here one of its biggest updates, with an improved performance and which also takes advantage of a new aspect, but which now allows the installation of Android applications on Windows 11, the result of a partnership between Intel and Amazon.

Returning to the Desktop, there is a whole window dedicated to widgets, which can be invoked at all times from the lower left corner of the screen. Windows 11 is better prepared for the transition between laptop mode and tablet mode for devices with a detachable screen. The system will recognize the change and adjust the layout and features to be optimized for the touch screen.

Two new features for video game lovers will be the features inherited from the Xbox Series X: Auto HDR and DirectStorage, the latter taking better advantage of the NVMe SSD internal memory to significantly reduce video game loading time. The Xbox App is here again.

One app that takes on more “responsibility” is Microsoft Teams. The application becomes an integral part of the operating system and is the service of excellence for making calls and sending messages through Windows 11.
Although the operating system update is not as drastic as others we’ve seen in the past, the truth is that Microsoft has achieved a very interesting evolution and makes its operating system more in line with current market demands. Windows 11 thus appears to have everything to be a success as soon as it hits the market from October to all users, and the update will be available for free for all Windows 10 devices.
