Developers can test some Windows 11 built-in applications that have been updated by Microsoft. Snipping Tool, Calculator, Email and Calendar received minor improvements that were designed to match the new visual style of Windows 11.
According to The Verge, Microsoft is also replacing the classic Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps with a new snipping app that combines the best features of both apps.

In addition, the keyboard shortcut Win + Shift + S will be the main way to take a screenshot and will activate the cropping menu with various options to select the content to be captured.

Once a screenshot is taken, the Cropping Tool includes editing options for outline, annotations, and more. Also new to this tool is the dark mode option.
Regarding the calendar and email application, Windows Senior Program Manager Dave Grochocki explains that Microsoft “added rounded corners and other tweaks to make them suitable for Windows 11.”
In the calculator app, the small improvements will allow the user to set a theme separate from the one they’re using in the rest of Windows 11. Microsoft also rewrote the calculator in C#, allowing developers to contribute their improvements to the GitHub.

Now testers can experiment individual and group calls audio or video in Microsoft Teams. You can also share the screen, just as you would in a normal Microsoft Teams app.
These aren’t the only apps that will be updated. Grochocki’s blog post hints that there’s more to come until the (likely) release of Windows 11 in October.
