The day has come! Windows 11 is already being made available by Microsoft, and computers and tablets that meet the required requirements will start receiving the update from today.
As an update on a global scale, various devices around the world will receive the update gradually, with Microsoft advancing that the update process could take a few weeks, with the end of this process expected to take place in early 2022.
The update will be available free of charge for all Windows 10 devices that meet the minimum requirements listed below:
- System: Windows 10 (version 2004 or later)
- Processor with at least 2 cores and 1 GHz frequency
- 4GB of RAM
- 64GB storage
- Graphics Card with DirectX 12 Support
- TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module)
- Firmware compatible with Secure Start
- High definition screen (720p) over 9” (diagonal), 8 bits per color channel.
How to get the update for Windows 11
The easiest way to get Windows 11 will be to wait for the Windows Update notification that will tell us when the new software version is available for our PC. Windows 10 users will have access to a message like the one we can see in the image above and that will invite us to install Windows 11.
However, many users want to immediately try the new version of the system, so for those, we leave some tips below.
First, before updating, we advise the reader to check if the device in use is in fact compatible with Windows 11. To do so, simply download the application PC Health Check (in Portuguese “Verification of PC Operational Status), where we are given the possibility to verify the compatibility between our hardware and the new Microsoft software.
Then, if the computer is in fact compatible, the user must download the Windows 11 installation wizard through from this link. Before opening the installation wizard, we always advise the reader to make a system backup and save all the work that is currently done before starting the installation.
And after all the work and files are properly protected, just open the installation wizard and follow the steps indicated for the installation to be done automatically, without any difficulty for the user, and you should just wait for it to be done after the process. the system has been restarted so that you can enjoy the new features of Windows 11.
