Windows 11 is losing popularity on Steam

Each month, Valve reveals data relating to Steam users, specifically their hardware and software configurations. Although these values refer only to the universe of Steam users, they give a good indication of the characteristics of their systems as a whole and in the market.

And if we take into account the data for the month of October, there is some bad news for Microsoft. This is because Windows 11 has seen a decline among all Steam users.

The data points out that Windows 11 saw a nearly 1.47% drop in user usage of Steam, from 24.84% in September to 23.37% in October. However, it will be a significant drop in values, especially considering that it is in the gaming market that most users choose to have the systems in the latest versions.

Data on using Windows on Steam

Windows 10, on the other hand, continues to be the preferred system by users, with a share of 68.91%, up 0.42% compared to the previous period. Interestingly, Windows 7 still has a sizable edge on the platform, at 3.59%, up 1.19% from the previous month.

It is important to stress once again that this data pertains only to Steam users and, within these, those who have agreed to share their system data with Valve. Even so, it is sure to be a significant declining percentage to take into account.

One of the criticisms of Windows 11 lies in the limitations at the hardware level, which limit it only to the most recent systems on the market – and even systems that would still be able to run the system correctly, could have unsupported processors. . This has led many users to stick with Windows 10.
