Windows 11 is about to solve the annoying Wi-Fi finding problem – Computer King Ada

One of the most annoying items in Windows 11 is the search for a Wi-Fi network, where you have to fiddle with the operating system to see the full list of options. Fortunately, in future updates, Microsoft will add a Wi-Fi update button to Windows 11 to solve the operating method that has long been criticized for being negative and not intuitive enough.

This isn’t a new problem; people have been complaining about the lack of a way to update Wi-Fi options in Windows 11 for years. In the latest Canary version of Windows 11 released last week, Microsoft is officially testing the Wi-Fi update button located near the bottom of the screen. This way, you don’t have to constantly open and close the network list to scan for signals to update, you can just easily Find the network you want with the push of a button.

This new feature was first discovered and shared on X by netizens, and then confirmed by a Windows senior project manager. Apparently, this new feature wasn’t mentioned in the launch notes, as it won’t fully work with everything and the development team is still making changes and improvements. Whichever way you end up showing it, diagnosing Wi-Fi problems or finding a network will be a lot easier.

This feature is just now coming to the Canary builds of Windows 11, which means it may take a while before all the kinks are ironed out and it’s adjusted to work for everyone. Getting a Wi-Fi update button is certainly a step in the right direction, but it’s just one of many potential problems with finding and interacting with a network. No matter which way it is ultimately presented, this is a good sign for users. It means that Microsoft is actively listening to user opinions and is at least fixing those criticized parts.

The latest Windows 11 Canary build 25997 fixes many other bugs, improves Windows Share, and provides a way to quickly shut down “your phone”. You’ll also find a fix for random transparency of contextual menus, and an issue where booting in safe mode would freeze.
