Windows 11 Free Upgrade: Availability in Latest Canary Build and Release Date

As the article says:

The German Deskmodder.de, which was the first to write about the termination, says that in the current stable version of Windows 11 it is still possible to perform the free upgrade, but that this is no longer possible in the latest Canary Insider beta build is.

So it is still possible now, but as soon as the Canary build eventually becomes final, that option will no longer be available.

An exact date for the release of that new build cannot of course be given, not even by Microsoft itself.

After all, that depends on how quickly the steps are completed, and that in turn depends on how many vugs are found in the Canary and need to be fixed (and retested).

The Canary is only the first ring in the development process, after which it must go through various stages with betas and Release Candidates before it goes RTM and becomes available to everyone. And in all these phases, delays can occur due to bugs and the need to fix and retest.
