Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11. Available for a few hours, it is aimed at PCs registered in the DEV channel of the Windows Insider program.
Windows 11 build 25136 is now available for download. We have many things, one of the most striking is the arrival of tabs in File Explorer.
This breakthrough is not necessarily a surprise, as it has been expected for years. It is even one of the most popular requests from the Windows community. Microsoft has already made a first attempt. The attempt was made in Windows 10 with the introduction of Sets. Unfortunately, testing resulted in the feature being removed and development ceased.
Windows 11 build 25136, some known issues.
Added to this are many other improvements. We also have known issues. For example, installing it on a Surface Pro X might see a black screen when it tries to come out of hibernation.
Microsoft notes that a fix is in the works. Pending its release, the firm simply advises against installing this build 25136 on a Surface Pro X.
Windows Insiders with Surface Pro X experience a black screen when resuming from hibernation with this build. You will need to power off and on (long power button off) to regain control. It is recommended on these devices to delay updates until a patched version is available.
At the same time, stopping certain settings through the Start menu may result in a reboot. Finally, we also have rendering problems.
We are investigating reports that the mica material and acrylic blur effect are not displaying correctly in certain parts of the operating system (start menu, notification center, and other areas). We’re investigating reports that shutting down through the Start menu doesn’t work for some Insiders and restarts the computer unexpectedly.
