After several years of development adds Microsoft a new version of Windows 10 on shelf until further.
The confirms the company itself in a blog post, after rumors circulated earlier this month that Windows 10X is history.
Although Microsoft writes that Windows 10X will not come this year, as actually planned, but things indicate that the operating system will never come on the market.

Instead, the IT giant plans to bring more of the features from Windows 10X to Windows 10. Among them is a new app container technology, better voice typing and a new touch keyboard, which will be rolled out this autumn.
At the same time, it is known that Microsoft is working with a major overhaul of the user interface in Windows 10, dubbed Sun Valley, which according to the reports draws some inspiration from Windows 10X.
This includes an updated start menu, centered apps on the taskbar – such as Chrome OS and macOS, rounded corners in app windows and a number of other changes to the user interface.
Microsoft will probably talk more about the Sun Valley update during the Build fair, which kicks off next week.

Alternative to Chrome OS
Windows 10X was first unveiled along with Surface Duo and Surface Neo in the autumn of 2019, and was scheduled to be launched in the autumn of 2020 together with the Surface Neo.
Primarily, the operating system was intended for devices with two monitors, such as the Surface Neo, but Microsoft later chose to focus on traditional devices with one monitor. At the same time, the Surface Neo was put on hold.
The operating system should be an alternative to Chrome OS, as an easy-to-use version of Windows 10 and mainly with support for Universal Windows Apps, web apps and apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
