Windows 10 re-launches voice activation for Cortana

Cortana is the assistant in Windows 10, which has been losing presence over the years in the operating system. In the May update of last year of the operating system, Microsoft disabled the option to activate the assistant with the voice command. In November they confirmed that it was going to return and it is being deployed again.

The firm is launching a new update, which brings this option back to the operating system. Users will be able to use the command again to activate the wizard.

The “Hey Cortana” command it was an easy way to open the wizard in Windows 10. After the May update last year, this feature was removed from Microsoft’s operating system. Fortunately, Microsoft is releasing a new version of its assistant application, number 2.2011.11613.0, which brings that function back to the assistant.

In the wizard settings we find this option again, which will allow us to activate the wizard using this command. Users will simply have to activate that command in the settings to use it.

Additionally, Microsoft is introducing improvements in Cortana so that it will be able to respond better to voice control. We can ask the assistant things like weather information, tell us a joke or open certain settings on the computer. These functions allow better use of this wizard on your Windows 10 computer at all times.
