Windows 10 is getting older, here’s the consequence

Windows 10 will be upgraded once a year, writes HWSW IT portal.

The amount of refresh so far has been two a year.

And Windows 10 will take over the update schedule for its successor, Windows 11, released in October, so Windows 10 will only receive an update package, a feature update, sometime in the second half of 2022.

The previous practice lasted for six years, according to the portal, Microsoft presumably realized that their previous practice is no longer sustainable, it is unnecessary to force two packages a year.

Sometime in the fall of 2025, Microsoft may release the last major update package for Windows 10. After that, only Windows 11, released in October this year, will receive updates, whether it’s security fixes or new feature packs.
