Stop the sale

Windows 10 was introduced in 2015 and was offered as a free upgrade for then-Windows 7-8 users.

In 2021, the successor Windows 11 arrived, but until now it has also been possible to buy Windows 10 instead of 11, if you prefer. But on 31 January it’s over.

Then it will no longer be possible to buy a Windows 10 license, reports Microsoft.

“31. January 2023 is the last day this Windows 10 download is offered for sale,” the company writes their websites.

Supported for 3 more years

Even if Microsoft stops selling Windows 10, you can continue to use the operating system for several years to come.

Microsoft will support Windows 10 until October 14, 2025 with both feature and security updates.

At the same time, it is possible to upgrade to Windows 11 for free, as long as you have a PC that meets the requirements of Microsoft.

According to Statcounter runs Windows 10 on 68 percent of Windows machines on the market, while Windows 11 has 17 percent of the market.
