Microsoft still has many ideas to enrich its Windows operating system. New example today with the update of Your Phone which allows you to use the applications of your Samsung phone directly in Windows 10.
You will soon be able to access your smartphone applications directly on your PC. As long as you have the right phone, of course. Microsoft has just deployed a new version of the Your Phone application for Windows 10. This allows in particular to launch mobile applications on your computer, as promised when Samsung revealed his Galaxy Note 20. You will no longer have to get up to go get your smartphone to answer a message or order food.
Windows 10 can run mobile apps very easily
With this feature, apps even launch into separate windows to enable multitasking and you can even add them directly to the Start menu or taskbar if you use them regularly. You can also use the mouse, keyboard or touch screen to interact with the application interfaces.
As noted some time ago, the feature is not available on all devices. First of all, you will need the latest version of the Your Phone application on your Windows 10 PC as well as a smartphone with the latest version of Link to Windows. Currently this means (only) a Samsung smartphone under Android 9.0 Pie or later. The computer and the phone must also be on the same Wi-Fi network.

Despite these constraints, it’s still a big step forward when it comes to phone screen mirroring. Much easier than managing everything in one window, much faster to simply launch your favorite application. Of course, this experience is not up to that imagined by Microsoft with Continuum, but it is certainly what comes closest to it today.
