Windholz: “Open the gates of sport!”: SPÖ Lower Austria

The SPÖ NÖ urges everyone to be able to practice their favorite sport from March onwards, as sports spokesman LAbg. Rainer Windholz emphasizes: “Nobody understands why you are not allowed to play tennis in a tennis hall or why you are not allowed to play football on a field several thousand square meters! The range of tests, which will be expanded from March to include the living room tests required by the SPÖ since December, allows everyone to have access to their sports! In all our efforts to contain the virus, we must by no means neglect mental health and the physical health resulting from sport. People have to and want to get out, they want to live again and start the new year fit! At the sports summit taking place on Friday, we are demanding a solution that gives the sports clubs and the people behind them a perspective! “

Because children in particular, Windholz continues, would suffer extremely under the current conditions: “Our youngest not only reach their psychological limits, they cannot improve their skills any further! Your motor skills and cognitive abilities have been untrained for months, which will subsequently have an impact on your further sporting development if you do not counteract this immediately and make it possible to practice sport! “

“For the social democracy in Lower Austria, one thing is certain: Let us open the gates of sport in March and let us finally make it possible for people to be able to enjoy their favorite sport again with enthusiasm!”
