While the transition to renewable energies is urgent, more and more players in the wind sector are turning to the general public to finance their projects. In Belgium, there are many initiatives in this direction, thus offering savers the possibility of diversifying their investments. But this type of investment is not without risk.

Wind power is on the rise. Despite the health crisis that weighed on global growth and supply chains in 2020, the sector had an exceptional year, marked by a 53% increase in wind energy installations worldwide according to the World Council of wind power (GWEC).
In this sector, Belgium is no exception. Taking advantage of its frontage on the North Sea, where the frequent winds are favorable to the installation of wind turbines, the flat country is in the European head pack as regards the development of offshore wind turbines. Unsurprisingly, several players are trying to pull out the game to capture investments from businesses and individuals.
