Wincent Weiss has been in the public eye for about nine years. ZDFheute meets the Eutin native in Cannes, invited to film premieres and marketing events. Wherever Wincent Weiss appears, he is usually recognized, even in the South of France.
He has a million followers on Instagram alone. The musician also feels a great responsibility. “I think you should be more aware from time to time of how much influence you really have.”

His breakthrough came in 2015 with the re-recording of the song “Unter meiner Haut” together with the DJs “Gestört aber GeiL” and “Koby Funk”. Weiss’ debut album “Irgendwas gegen die Stille” was released in 2017 – with the hits “Musik sein” and “Feuerwerk”. Since then, the Eutin native has become an integral part of the German pop music scene. His key to success: authenticity and staying true to himself.
And then people somehow stick with it, and I hope it stays that way for a long time and I can keep playing concerts for a long time. Because I wouldn’t know what else to do.

Wincent Weiss …
… was born in Bad Oldesloe in 1993. Singer, songwriter, coach – Wincent Weiss is a jack of all trades, but has other talents too: Since his youth he has worked as a model on and off. He has also worked as a voice actor for “Tabaluga”. However, his main focus is still on music.
Weiss’s dream job was to be a kindergarten teacher
The songwriter has been a member of the jury of the show “The Voice Kids” for four years. This year, his team won for the first time. The musician particularly enjoys working with children.
They are so honest, they are so unbiased, and it is simply fun to work with such honest people and to get honest feedback.

Working with children was Wincent’s dream when he was at school. Back then, he did his internships in kindergartens in his village. Today, thanks to “The Voice Kids,” he sees himself as a musical educator.
The 31-year-old is known above all for his emotional lyrics. Since the beginning of his career, he has been making German music that is inspired by his experiences.
I always fill my phone with notes. Everything that happens in everyday life. And then I take the notes to the studio and sort them there.

Wincent Weiss feels at home in the village
As much as Wincent Weiss enjoys his performances in front of an audience, he also looks forward to returning home after a tour. The musician currently lives in a village again – on the Bay of Lübeck. After having lived in big cities like Munich and Berlin, he realized that he feels more comfortable in the village.
When I come home, I want to look out into the greenery. And in front of me are the neighbor’s horses and cows in the fields. For me, that’s like coming home.

Now there are still a few shows left on his tour. But Wincent Weiss knows that if his career as a musician ever comes to an end, he would have fun as a kindergarten teacher.
