Memory manufacturer Winbond Electronics (2344) held a press conference today (6th) and released its future outlook. General Manager Chen Peiming said that market demand for SLC NAND and Specialty DRAM (Specialty DRAM) is gradually improving, indicating inventory adjustments. It has come to an end, and there will be more opportunities for rising price demand in the future.
Chen Peiming pointed out that the previous market demand in the DRAM market was not good, and prices were also affected. However, the market demand is gradually improving. Among them, in the niche DRAM market, major memory manufacturers are making every effort to attack the DDR5 high-end market. Demand continues to heat up, and it is expected that demand in the first quarter of this year will be better than last year’s quarters. Driven by market demand such as the Internet of Things, Netcom, surveillance and TV, there is expected to be a breakthrough price growth trend in the future.
In the Code Storage Flash market, Chen Peiming said that the market changes in 2023 will only grow slightly compared to 2022. However, the inventory at the manufacturing end was gradually depleted in the second half of last year. Now the inventory at the end market and manufacturing end The water levels are quite healthy, and the semiconductor market is expected to have good growth in 2024.
Among them, in the SLC NAND market, Chen Peiming expects that as major manufacturers have begun to gradually fade out of related fields, Winbond currently has no inventory of SLC NAND and has performed well in receiving orders. It is expected that supply may be a bit tight in the second half of this year. In 2025 Supply and demand will likely be tight this year, and Winbond will add some machines in the second half of this year to meet market demand.
