Winamp will be resurrected amidst the siege of streaming music players, like what?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – A PC-only music player application called Winamp is rumored to be resurrected with some of its latest updates.

To note, Winamp had become a legendary PC music player since it was first launched in 1997.

Its popularity as the best media player for PC began to fade in the early 2000s, following the emergence of various streaming music player applications that are now widely used.

In the midst of the siege of the streaming music player, Winamp is now reportedly in active development again and is predicted to be much different from the older version of Winamp.

Launch XDA Developers, Saturday (11/27/2021), the original version of Winamp namely v5.666.3516 was developed from 1997 to 2013.

Then in 2018, the v5.8 version which was not finished at that time suddenly leaked until the development of Winamp, Radionomy (now known as Shoutcast) made it available.

Had a drag while trying to catch up with other music players, now the Winamp website has been redesigned and promises fresh innovations.

XDA Developers mentions that this new Winamp project will be a music player that goes above and beyond.

Winamp updates in the latest version will provide a unique space for content creators that can be used to make money.
