The Agenais Jérémie Binet will go to Paris at the very beginning of March to take part in the final of the Winamax Poker Tour. He won his qualification for this great event during a tournament in Bordeaux. Portrait of this poker player who will move “with the ambition to do better than last time”.
Qualified for the grand final of the Winamax Poker Tour, the Agenais Jérémie Binet alias “LousticMou” on the online gaming site will go to Paris to defend his chances against more than 2,500 players, from March 1st to 6th.
To reach this stage of the tournament, he passed the first level in an online free tournament. This offered him a place for the qualifying tournament in Bordeaux, which took place last weekend at the Matmut Atlantique stadium.
Already a final in 2017
Installed in the dressing rooms, the poker tables had a breathtaking view of the magnificent Girondins lawn. In this exceptional setting and after two days of competition, the Lot-et-Garonne player won his ticket to the Paris final by finishing in the top 11 of the 600 entered. A performance achieved under the eyes of his two brothers, eliminated a little earlier in this tournament.
Not everything was easy for this Norman by birth. “I was praying because the person just to my right got knocked out in the twelfth. is not played much”.
This is not the first time for this experienced player. In 2017, he also participated in the final of the Winamax Poker Tour. That year, the event took place at the Cercle Clichy-Montmartre in Paris. Jérémie Binet has excellent memories of it. “It was really impressive, there were a lot of poker celebrities but not only. I had Raymond Domenech at my table”. After three days of playing, he had finished at the 80e place for this great premiere. A very good performance that earned him a gain of €1,300.
Poker, 12 years of history
This first final, in any case, came to reward the long-standing involvement of this player who climbed the ladder one by one. “Poker was natural.” He started playing online poker in 2011. Today, at 33, he is still immersed in this world of gambling. along with his friends. Even though it’s been 12 years now, the terms and conditions remain the same. He does not deviate and continues to make tournaments of 10 and 20 €. If the losses followed one another during the first years, the click came a little later. “Between 2016 and 2017,” he says. Jeremy picked up the pace. He began to participate in many daily tournaments. Between four and eight! “It’s a story of mentality. The more we are concentrated, the more we will play and the more we will win” he explains.
During this period, he estimates that he earned around €10,000. But, addiction has sometimes touched him. “I had certain periods when it was not easy to limit yourself” confides the Agenais. He continues: “when I chain the losses, you have to have the reflex to turn off. This is where you can go into drifts”. With hindsight, he considers himself lucky that the variants with higher stakes (for example, those at €200) were not yet relevant. “There, I can connect, start a game and play my salary. It’s hard to limit yourself but we’re getting there.” Today, the Agenais has resumed its cruising speed. He continues to play regularly, once a week. But, sometimes he may not play for a month.
Combining game and real life
“LousticMou” is indeed the pseudonym chosen by Jérémie Binet to play on the Winamax application. The reason is simple and above all emotional. The poker player, also a dad, nicknames his son “Loustic” or “Mosquito”. By mixing these two nicknames, he found this player name.
The final of the Winamax Poker Tour 2023 taking place in Paris, Jérémie Binet had to organize himself with his family and professional imperatives. The tournament will start from Wednesday 1is March to Monday March 6. The organization has accepted his request to postpone his entry into play. He will make his first bets on Friday, March 3. “I have my wife’s birthday on March 2 and at work it suits me to leave later”. The freelancer in web development must now organize for the extras which are totally at his expense. “I can be eliminated from day one at worst or stay until Monday at best.” From now on, the cards are in the hands of LousticMou to achieve a good performance or even be crowned French poker champion. And win a jackpot of €150,000!
