LONDRA – Russian and Belarusian tennis players will be excluded from Wimbledon 2022. After a lot of speculation and rumors in the last few weeks, the official has arrived. The British sports authorities made this decision today, in light of Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine by Russia. An exclusion defined as “unacceptable” by the Kremlin: “Given that Russia is a strong tennis country, competitions will suffer”, Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesman, told reporters, “making sportsmen hostage to political intrigue is unacceptable” .
