After this season, the Australian MX2 Kawasaki rider Wilson Todd should have been promoted to the MXGP due to the age restriction of 23 years. Todd ends his Grand Prix career and returns to Australia.
The one for the British team ‘Bike It Kawasaki’ starting MX2-Pilot Wilson Todd ends his Grand-Prix-Karriere and returns to his Australian homeland. The decisive factor for this decision was the age limit of the MX2-WM for 23 years. Anyone who has reached this age has to go to the MXGP move up if he wants to stay in the World Cup.
In the end, 12th place in the World Cup was not enough for the Australian to get a place in one MXGP-Team to be found. ‘Bike It Kawasaki’ wants to continue to focus on that 250ccm-Bikes focus. The team won the Women’s World Cup with Courtney Duncan from New Zealand.
“It was a great experience to fight against the best drivers in the world,” commented Todd his farewell. “It’s been a long season with ups and downs, but now I’m going back to Australia.”
Team owner Steve Dixon wants to continue next year. “It will be my 33rd season in the World Cup,” explains the Briton. «On December 1st we will Driver lineup announce for the coming season. “
