According to Autosport Fittipaldi has been hospitalized since Christmas last year – which was also his birthday. The reason for the long hospital stay is said to have been because he put a piece of meat in his throat.
His family could not get the piece out, which in turn left Fittipaldi unable to get any air in his lungs and it triggered a cardiac arrest.
On Friday, the news reached the Formula 1 family that Wilson Fittipaldi had passed away after the very tragic event.
