According to the romantic nature of the group’s leader Emil Dreiblat, the latest album of the Liepaja team “Willow Farm” has been called “The Moon in the Sea Draws a Trail”. At the same time, listeners are offered a new single “I live to live”, which is stylistically different from the band’s usual sound. The latest radio single is one of the album’s most dynamic tracks: it tells of the inevitable end of youthful maximalism and of accepting that life should simply be “lived off”.
“Understanding and reconciliation comes with time. Everything is very clear in my youth. Then at some point the questions can no longer be answered with only “yes” or “no”, halftones also appear. In this song, it is related to matching ambitions with opportunities, ”explains Emīls.
The writing of the songs for the new album has followed a new scheme this time, and the guitarist of Willow Farm, Emil’s eldest son Jānis Dreiblats, has been actively involved in this process. “We wrote most of the album for two. Jānis had sketches of harmonious progressions, guitar riffs, already specific motifs and even ready-made song accompaniments. I start writing melodies and lyrics, ”Emil gives an insight into the creative process. The other members of the group – bassist Uldis Nolmanis and drummer Māris Zīlmanis – also started working on the arrangements, developing and arranging the rhythm section. All the songs were recorded in the studio “Lighthouse” under the direction of Jānis Dreiblats, but the musician and sound engineer Gints Sola, also known as the former guitarist of the group “Jauns mēness”, gave the final sound and also valuable advice to each other. Emīls: “With the collaboration of Gints, we started mastering the previous album. This time, he was involved in the process from the very beginning, both with the help of mixing tips and in the end, smoothing out all the irregularities so that the album would sound like a single, whole work. ”
